FAQs
Everything you need to know about supporting a drop or working with FansDrop.
FOR CUSTOMERS
What is FansDrop and how does it work?
FansDrop brings creator-designed collectibles to life through limited crowdfunding drops. Projects may first go through an Unlock stage to test demand, followed by a full campaign if the project moves forward. Successfully funded products then enter production and are shipped to supporters.
What is an Unlock Drop and what is the $2 payment for?
An Unlock Drop is a 7-day paid demand test. The $2 is a small refundable deposit that shows genuine interest in the project — it is not the full price of the final product.
If the project moves forward and you complete the remaining payment, the $2 will count toward your final purchase. If the project does not move forward, your deposit will be refunded.
What happens if an Unlock Drop reaches or misses its goal?
If an Unlock Drop reaches its goal, the project can move into product development and sampling. Once the final sample is approved, the full campaign may launch.
If the Unlock goal is not reached within the testing period, the project will not move forward and paid Unlock deposits will be refunded.
What is a Live Drop?
A Live Drop is a limited-time crowdfunding pre-order for the final product. Each item purchased counts toward the campaign’s funding goal.
Campaigns remain open until the deadline shown on the product page.
What happens when a campaign reaches 100% funded?
Once a campaign reaches 100% funded, the product is confirmed for production.
You can still place an order until the campaign officially ends, even after the funding goal has been reached.
What happens if a campaign does not reach its funding goal?
If a campaign does not meet the required funding threshold, it will be considered unsuccessful and will not proceed to production.
Payments made toward the campaign will be refunded to the original payment method.
Can I cancel or refund my order?
Because FansDrop products are made specifically based on crowdfunding demand, successfully funded campaign orders are generally final and cannot be cancelled or refunded for a change of mind.
When will my order ship?
Each campaign page shows an estimated shipping date.
Production typically takes approximately 1–3 months after a campaign successfully ends. Shipping is expected to take approximately 10–15 days. These timelines are estimates and may vary due to production, quality control, customs, or logistics delays. We’ll send important updates by email.
What if my order arrives damaged, incorrect, or is lost in transit?
If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us at info@fansdrop.cc with your order number and clear photos of the issue.
For lost shipments, we’ll review the tracking information and work with the carrier to determine the appropriate solution.
What are Past Drops, and can I still buy them?
Past Drops are campaigns that have already ended.
Their pages remain available so you can view the product, creator, and campaign results, but Past Drops are no longer available for purchase.
FOR CREATORS
Who can work with FansDrop?
FansDrop works with creators, artists, content creators, game developers, and other IP owners with an engaged audience and an original concept that can be developed into merchandise.
There is no fixed follower requirement. We look at audience fit, engagement, design potential, and expected demand rather than follower count alone.
Do I need to own the IP or copyright?
Yes. You must own the rights to the character, artwork, design, or other intellectual property used in the project, or have valid authorization from the rights holder.
You remain the owner of your IP throughout the collaboration.
Do I need to pay anything upfront?
No upfront payment is required for the standard project process.
FansDrop covers standard product development, initial sampling, manufacturing setup, campaign operations, fulfillment, and customer support. If major design changes are requested after sampling, additional sampling costs may be shared depending on the situation.
What products can FansDrop create?
FansDrop focuses on creator collectibles such as plushies, plush keychains, and vinyl figures.
Plushies are typically 8–9 inches, while plush keychains and figures are typically 4–5 inches. Other product formats may also be possible depending on the design and manufacturing requirements.
How does a FansDrop project work from idea to launch?
A typical project follows this process:
Design Review → Unlock Test → Sampling → Creator Approval → Live Campaign → Production → Fulfillment
If the Unlock stage shows enough demand, we develop a physical sample for your approval before launching the full campaign.
How does sampling and product approval work?
After a project passes the initial testing stage, FansDrop will arrange sampling and provide one physical sample for your review.
You can request reasonable adjustments before final approval. Standard revisions are covered by FansDrop, while major redesigns requested after sampling may involve shared additional costs.
The full campaign will not launch until the final product direction is approved.
How are campaign goals set, and what happens if a campaign fails?
Campaign goals are determined based on product type, manufacturing requirements, minimum production quantities, pricing, and expected audience demand.
If a campaign does not generate enough support to proceed with production, it will be considered unsuccessful and customers will be refunded.
How do creators earn money?
Creators receive an agreed percentage of Effective Sales Revenue generated by the campaign.
Effective Sales Revenue generally means the campaign’s final sales revenue after applicable refunds and discounts. The exact revenue share and payment terms are confirmed in the collaboration agreement before launch.
What does FansDrop handle, and what does the creator need to do?
FansDrop handles product development, sampling, the campaign page, manufacturing, quality control, international fulfillment, and customer support.
Creators provide the approved design or IP, review and approve the product, and help introduce and promote the project to their audience.
Do I keep ownership of my IP, and what rights does FansDrop receive?
Yes. You retain ownership of your intellectual property.
FansDrop only receives the rights necessary to develop, promote, manufacture, sell, and fulfill the specific product covered by the collaboration agreement. The authorization is limited to that project unless both parties agree to a new collaboration.
Any future product or new campaign would require a separate agreement or renewal.
